Here are ten healthy weight loss habits to help you as you start out on your weight loss journey. Remember that small changes really can add up to big results over time.

1. Drink plain water. It is much better for you than soda and is calorie free. You will not gain any weight from drinking water.

2. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are very nutritious and a helpful source of fiber and vitamins.

3. Make time for exercise whether it is vigorous or not. Make time to add some form of exercise into your life, even if it is only five minutes.

Some exercise is better than none at all. You can build up energy for working out over time but you need to start some where.

4. Avoid stress as much as possible to avoid emotional eating. Learn what your triggers are and get away from them when at all possible.

5. Do not bring foods into your home that cause you to lose control . If it is not there then you cannot eat it. You can always reintroduce these foods later.

6. Do not leave the house hungry so you are not tempted to eat the first thing you see whether it is healthy or not. Have a slight snack or a meal when possible to avoid eating a meal you might regret later.

7. No self sabotaging. Do not set yourself up for failure by being negative. You are not the only person on this planet who is overweight or who is trying to lose weight. Others have lost weight and so can you. It is not impossible!

8. Be sure to get enough rest. This way you don’t have to depend or sugary sweets and fat laden fancy coffees to get you through the day.

9. Find a plan and stick to it. If you fail to plan then you plan to fail. Whether you are using a plan that you have created yourself or a widely known weight loss plan used by many, you will fare much better if you have some sort of rhyme or reason to aid you on your weight loss journey.

10. When you fall you must get back up. Many times we attempt to lose weight and fail for various reasons. However that does not mean that you are a failure. Pick yourself up and start again. If you mess up at one meal get right back on track at the next meal.
